Market Update: Good news again! Metro Detroit home sales were up again for the 9^th consecutive month in March. Macomb County saw an increase of almost 4% in sales and Oakland County had an increase of 1.5% in sales. Median sales prices were also up again; Macomb County was up 11% and Oakland County was up more than 20%. Average days on market continues to decrease as well as on market inventory which dropped by almost 19%. I also want to mention that foreclosures account for less than 15% of the on market inventory and have been low for quite awhile. (All comparisons are month to month, year to year.) April seems to have been a busy month again also, although in a lot of areas real estate agents are reporting an actual shortage of available properties. Sales figures for April won’t be out until the middle of May. Is a 10^th consecutive month of sales increases on the horizon? Check back next month to find out.
